I wanted to highlight some of the typical plants we have seen here in Sicily. The cactus trees grow wild and we tried the prickly pear which grows on them (interesting). There was a pomegranate grove right next to our hotel and they were huge. Of course the olive trees are every where and the palm trees add to the Mediterranean landscape. Bellisimo!
I'm adding some shots of mushrooms we saw on our day on Mt Etna. So many people were out gathering them in baskets. Also it was quite interesting that the birch tree is the first to grow back after the volcano.
